on the Penrith District & Spectacular Blue Mountains World Heritage
area, we have put together a number of affordably priced Educational
Packages for primary and secondary students. Experience
first hand: ·
Spectacular Wilderness Scenery on board our modern cruise boat the
Penrith Platypus while cruising into the world heritage listed Greater Blue
Mountains National Park.
Its a cruising classroom with large windows for viewing the points of
interest on our cruise. · Visit historic Mamre homestead and learn about the local history of the Penrith district. (Mamre can be combined with a Cruise to add to your day out. Alternatively we can deliver the History content onboard the Penrith Platypus. · Visit Muru Mitigar Aboriginal Cultural & Educational Centre. Muru Mitigar can be combined with a Cruise to add to your day out.) · Learn about fire safety and the history of fire fighting in domestic
homes and commercial premises at the Museum of Fire. We have
compiled & can present Resource materials that meet a number of
outcomes for the above learning areas for Primary & Secondary
students. One
phone call to the office of the Nepean Belle and Penrith Platypus
(02) 4733 1274, and provided you book a programme on the Penrith Platypus,
we will make all the other reservations for you. PRICES The
cost for the educational cruise is $9.00 per pupil,
teachers are free. There is a
minimum charge of $450.00 per cruise ie. 50 students. The tour and lesson
can last from 60 minutes to 90 minutes depending on time allowed by the
school. Students can bring their own morning tea or lunch or it can be
purchased on board the Penrith Platypus.
Arrangements must be made prior to the excursion for provision of
food. School
groups who book are faxed or emailed a copy of the learning materials for
